Care Team
The Care Team is an important part of Southside Christian Fellowship and since it was founded in early 2003 it has been instrumental in covering a multitude of ministries.
Two members of the team are at the desk at the front door each Sunday morning to welcome any new people or visitors and to guide them to the meeting area or any other facility they require and to hopefully make sure they feel wanted and comfortable. We endeavour to speak to them at coffee time and perhaps introduce them to other folk and to generally find out if they have enjoyed their visit.
During the week we can be involved in follow up work. We also send cards for many various reasons to both new people and our ‘ain folk’. Sometimes we are involved in hospital visits or popping in to see people at home to encourage and pray for them. Many times we can be seen having coffee with Southsiders and this gives us a chance just to be there to listen and befriend. It’s also a great excuse for a scone/cake/bun!
Twice a year we have an informal social evening for people who have only been attending Southside for up to six months. This gives them an opportunity to meet with the Leadership, Care Team members, Cell Group Leaders and other ‘new faces’.
We are involved in many ‘one off’ situations throughout the year and are basically here to care for you in any way we can. The most important thing is that you tell us if you or someone you know would like help. We can only be of help if we know about the situation and please be assured it is always in confidence.
