Ignite Bus Project
This has to be one of the most exciting ministries that we as a Church have ever been involved in. The bus is a magnet wherever it goes. Once parked it draws a crowd; people asking “What’s going on”, “who owns the bus”, “Can we get on?”
Now in its third year, with a second bus and after a six month break the Bus Ministry has reformed and is raring to go!
A new site at Dalmilling provides 50 or so young people, every Friday evening, with a safe place to meet and make new friends. Ignite or Ignite 2 offer a variety of activities: computer and techno games, tuck shop, snakes n ladders, snap, not forgetting Bingo, football and chat.
We are pleased that other local Churches are able to use the Buses for youth outreach in different parts of Ayr. South Ayrshire Council, who contributed to the refurbishment of Ignite2, are using the buses to support some of their youth initiatives.
Future Plans
We hope to be operational on the bus in various locations throughout Ayr.
We have a vision for the two buses to be used together; one as a teaching and learning resource for adults while the other is used as a crèche.
