Ignite Bus Project
This has to be one of the most exciting ministries that we as a Church have ever been involved in. The bus is a magnet wherever it goes. As soon as you park it, you are immediately bombarded with people asking all about it and what we do with it.
On Friday evening’s a group of volunteers go into Dalmilling Housing Estate, Ayr where there are regularly between 40-80 children waiting for us. We have a tuck shop on board, karaoke, Xboxes, balloon modelling, guitar lessons etc. The age of the children is from 4 years plus. Over the next few weeks we are planning to extend the time we are in the area so that we can accommodate both the children and the youth.
On Tuesday evening’s a new team are taking the bus into Kincaidston to run a youth outreach in that area this will be similar to what happens in Dalmilling.
Ayr car boot sale on a Sunday morning is another place that we are taking the bus once a month. Our plans for this are to have the downstairs area open for children to do face painting, balloon modelling, crafts etc. Upstairs will have tea/coffee, information about the Church and Alpha courses and an area at the back for anyone wishing prayer.
Future Plans
We are planning to start a homeless lunch on the bus on Friday’s between 12noon – 2pm. The bus will be parked in a central location to the town and we will distribute soup and sandwiches.
